A Seat for Every Situation
On September 23rd, it was a crisp autumn morning and the museum was showcasing an event named: The Art of Seating: Two Hundred Years of American Design. The exhibition had over forty different chairs that were a perfect representation and reflection of American society and culture within that two hundred year period. The colors, shapes, fabrics and finishes of these chairs were astonishing and innovative for the time period that they came out in. I read each and every description on each chair and learned more than I could ever know about chairs at this exhibit. I have visited the Reynolda House before while they were having an exhibit of Folk Art in America. Each and every time I go to the Reynolda House, I never leave disappointed. The staff that works in the museum were friendly, informative and knowledgeable and I went with a great group of people that could really appreciate this type of exhibit. This was definitely one of my favorite field trips I have been on with my interior design group at Randolph Community College! If you haven't visited this exhibit yet, or have never been to the Reynolda House, you must go!!!
I have provided some photos of a few of the chairs from the exhibit.

Creme dela creme
It was a Thursday. But no ordinary Thursday. February 20th, 2014 held the happiness to my destiny. I, Kolby L. Ingram, was introduced to the one and only Baker Furniture showroom in High Point, NC. Words cannot describe. The only thing I can say though, is that I may go set all of my furniture on fire so that I can replace it with Baker's goods. The tour was rich in information and I truly got the background story on each designers vision. The furniture and accessories were to die for. Thirty thousand dollar wallpaper, forty thousand dollar Chinese cabinet, heck, I saw a golden frog the size of my hand that was nearly twelve thousand dollars! By far the best showroom I have visited though. I photographed a few of my favorite pieces (though I could never do justice to this showroom and it's accents!) But I do hope you enjoy them!
